Since the planned stay in Borkum is not applicable 😭, we chose a route as a “compensation” for today's hike, which led largely along the water. Our starting point was the castle town of Hückeswagen, where we set off in the immediate vicinity of the “Schnabelsmühle” sports field.

I had trekking poles for the uphill and downhill sections, and they needed them, not often, but look at the elevation profile. The downhill and uphill sections were often repaired, presumably due to erosion, and large rocks weren't ideal for walking. Lots of asphalt 🤷🏼‍♂️ just not that pleasant to walk on.

Afternoon stroll. Today, a visit to the Wuppertal Dam in great weather ☀️😀. The water level was very low, but there were plenty of butterflies to admire 🦋😀. How beautifully the peacock butterflies fly! 🤩. Hard to catch ☝️📷😆. A nice chat with a couple from Koblenz 👋👋🤭🤣🤣. And in a flash, the trip was history! 😉😊
