View from Whiteleaf Hill

Highlight • Viewpoint

Whiteleaf is within easy walking distance of the train station (you can get a train to Princes Risborough - walk a little, then get the train back from Monks Risborough) and has a beautiful viewpoint. It also looks very different depending on what time of year you visit! Definitely a place to go and sit and think. :)

Holy Trinity Church, Bledlow

Highlight • Religious Site

Holy Trinity is a Grade I listed building. This Romanesque church dates back to the 12th century (at least the preserved parts of it do). The tower has 8 bells, the south porch has Buckinghamshire's oldest doors (apparently!), and fragments of medieval paintings and 16th century texts are on the walls.

Chinnor Hill Descent

Highlight • Viewpoint

Fast descent from the lookout to the ridgeway on the higher (rooty) line.

23.4 km

Boasting magnificent views over the Vale of Aylesbury, Chinnor Hill is a patchwork of calcareous wildflower grassland, scrub and woodland. A network of bridleways including stretches of the ancient Ridgeway National Trail offer many miles of outstanding riding.

Lacey Green Windmill

Highlight • Monument

Lacey Green Windmill is probably the oldest smock windmill in the country, dating back from the middle of the 17th century. After falling into disrepair, it was lovingly restored by the Chiltern Society in 1971.
