Description

If you're ready for a serious jogging challenge with incredible payoffs, the Beeks Place loop from Corona High School is definitely worth your time. This difficult 16.6-mile (26.7 km) route packs in 2966 feet (904 metres) of climbing, taking around 3 hours and 19 minutes to complete. It's a fantastic option for experienced trail runners seeking panoramic views and a sustained workout, especially during cooler seasons.

What to expect on Beeks Place loop from Corona High School

The journey up to Beeks Place is a continuous climb, primarily on a wide gravel fire road, though you can find more technical single-track alternatives if you're up for a steeper, rutted challenge. As you ascend, the views open up dramatically, offering expansive vistas of the Inland Empire, Orange County, and on clear days, even the coastline and Catalina Island. You'll pass the distinctive 'golf ball' Doppler weather tower before reaching the historic ruins of Beeks Place, a unique spot to pause and take in the sweeping panorama. This route is a sustained effort, best suited for those who enjoy a demanding uphill jog with incredible payoffs.

Planning your visit

Be prepared for a lack of shade and water sources along the entire route, making it very hot during summer months. Cooler seasons are much more ideal for this run. The trail is often accessed via the Skyline Drive Trail from Corona, with parking typically available near the Corona High School area. Always carry plenty of water, especially given the significant elevation gain and exposure.
