St. Gallus Margrave's Church, Lanzendorf

Highlight • Religious Site

The parish church of St. Gallus "with its high Lantzen and spire" was already visible from 1692. However, as the original parish it is much older.
Over 70 steps "Church Relay" lead from the White Main up to the former castle complex. Castle and school buildings serve today, among other things. as a community center.
From 1303 onwards, the Lords of Wirsberg had the right of patronage. The Reformation was implemented late, there were religious struggles and quarrels. In 1687 the knightly estate fell to Margrave Christian Ernst and became the administrative administration.
A Gothic hall church later became an admirable margrave church, not overloaded, bright through the arched windows, with double galleries all around and a pulpit altar by court sculptor J.G. Räntz. Construction period 1750 to 1755.
The elegant stucco ceiling (JN Feeg) therefore not only testifies 3 times from the eye of God in a triangle with a ray wreath, and angels from the "Jubilate Deo", but the F with a princely hat and the artistic coat of arms also refer to Margrave Friedrich as patron and builder, whereby the Local pastor was granted a significant share in the church renovation.
The organ, financed by national collections, was added later. Also worth seeing is baptismal font, lecture crosses, tombs and Gothic half-reliefs of Apostles.

Descent to Lanzendorf

Highlight • Trail

After the climb to Bindlacher Berg, the beautiful descent to Lanzendorf was more than earned. The latter has a wonderful town center with refreshments (red ox)

Falkenhaus

Highlight • Monument

Nice view into the Main Valley, the country road is great to ride on a racing bike; the surface is good and the traffic is light. At the branch you can turn over Nenntmannsreuth to Harsdorf, quasi on the other side of the mountain or just back to B2 or Lanzendorf.
After the Eichberg, just before Doebitsch, the Falkenhaus can be seen, very nice.

Leisau Castle

Highlight • Castle

The village of Leisau is in a quiet location with a wonderful view of the Kronach Valley and the White Main Valley.
Leisau belongs to the city of Goldkronach, so Goldkronach has a castle in white and the castle in Leisau is a little less well-known, as here in dusky pink with a pretty entrance. In any case, a side street with little traffic leads from Goldkronach via Leisau and Gesees to Bad Berneck Blumenau.
