June 1, 2025,Eifelschleife 1 "Via Agrippa"
Another loop of the Eifel was on the agenda today. A relaxing tour across meadows, fields, and through villages. If you'd like to have a picnic in the great outdoors, the beautiful Rotbach Valley is a great place. The last 2-3 kilometers follow the "Via Agrippa," which was quite straightforward both historically and visually.

A highly recommended Eifel loop. This could also be done by bike!

Today we went on the Eifel loop "Via Agrippa".

Start and finish was Sinzenich in the North Eifel. Via Schwerfen it goes to Eicks with the castle of the same name. A very nicely situated property.

The Eifel loop goes through meadows and fields and the very beautiful Rotbach valley.

This cozy Eifel loop leads beautifully through the Zülpicher Börde, that is, the path is quite flat and offers little challenge. But there is no shortage of palaces, castles and babbling brooks, and when the weather is clear there are also some beautiful views. First the path leads through the forest, later through fields, partly through nice Eifel villages with …

November 19, 2021,EifelSchleife 1 Via Agrippa
After I wanted to go two loops today and the Via Agrippa led past my parking lot, I decided to go for this one.
Possibly to honor the high (street) architecture of the Romans 😬 the route led mostly over well-developed paths and tar roads. For me, the natural path does not prefer the best route. The straight route through …

The best is the nice little Eifel Antik Café at the end 😊

Today we start in a small place called Sinzenich and follow the path past Sinzenich Castle and meadow orchards 🌿🐇🐝🦔🥾🐞.
It goes up between the picturesque rapeseed fields and down again, over the old Roman road into the Rotbachtal
to Eicks Castle in the North Eifel.
