The Döbraberg stands out because of its spherical radar system, to the left of which you can see Schwarzenbach am Wald. The Schnebeser Knock has a small forest at the top and meadows around it.

April 30, 2023,Güldenstein - Weg DÖ 53
Today on the circular route there was something of everything, nice rest area with chapel, destroyed forest, 3x Lost Places, nice sayings and lots of sun.

Today was a very nice morning hike with mbH. We'd been to Güldenstein before, but neither of us could remember how we continued from Güldenstein.

Today we started in Köstenschmölz. From there, we quickly reached the Güldenstein Steigla marker and followed the very clear markings clockwise.
You can also start in Fels, Elbersreuth, Köstenhof, or Köstenberg.

Güldenstein - an enchanted place deep in the Franconian Forest is the namesake of this varied Steigla.
On natural paths and narrow forest trails, we constantly go up and down until we reach the site of the former Einzel Güldenstein in an open area, which was the inspiration for the name of this exciting circular hiking trail. All that remains …

Lonely paths, lost places, and nowhere to stop for refreshments—that's the Güldenstein Trail. The first problem was finding a parking space in Elbersreuth. The trail then continued well-signposted along forest, field, and forestry paths deep into the valley. Only the climb fulfilled the Steigla promise—it was indeed tough. We also visited the Pressecker Tower on the way there.

It was high time that the tours became a bit "normal" again!

Today I tackled another Steigla, the "Güldenstein-Weg" from Elbersreuth near Presseck. I've been to Elbersreuth several times before because various hiking trails (including quality trails) pass through there, but today I was able to discover some unknown territory again.

Very nice circular hiking trail that has decay as its theme. Güldenstein is a desert. The hiking trail was originally 12 km long, if you read the old metal signs, it went to the hikers' home that no longer exists. There are a few lost places along the way. A wonderful sleepy corner.

The idyllic Frankenwald-Steigla "Güldenstein-Weg" surprised us with a special memorial: Near the village of Köstenberg, we passed a memorial stone that we initially thought was a normal war memorial. However, the inscription gave no indication of the names of the "fallen and deceased comrades" or the war in which they died. Also unusual was the coat of arms with a …

Our tour today started at the parking lot to the former Gasthof Fels. Years ago, the beautiful inn was acquired by the districts of Hof, Kulmbach and Kronach to prevent it from being taken over by the right-wing extremist scene. Plans were made for the future use of the inn to benefit the public. Well, apparently not much or nothing …
