Höchenschwand Village Center

Highlight • Settlement

The center of Höchenschwand is dominated by the Catholic Church of St. Michael. Around it there are some seating and restaurants, where you can linger, stop and rest during or at the end of a hiking tour.

This is where the spell forest begins. The area should develop into a primeval forest undisturbed.

Sturdy shoes and a bit of a head for heights - then everything is good! Ropes and railings secure difficult passages. Great views of the valley, really worth seeing, some places have something magical about them. Like from the Lord of the Rings ....: -)) ... or from Iceland ... Trolls and elves, where are you? ;-)

A great hike with insights into the life of the wolf. 60% of the trail is single trail, some sections are a bit overgrown, but overall, the natural beauty outweighs the rest. Highly recommended. There are safety ropes in certain places, but you don't need them if you don't suffer from vertigo and concentrate on the trail. As always, sturdy …

I saw this tour here and saved it. The first 4km were a bit sobering until it really hits the mark at the second car park with its carved figures and great paths. From here on it's a really great and lovely path to walk!

At the beginning a small tar road, later many beautiful forest paths and rocky paths. A small passage with a safety rope and then again these beautiful forest paths. Well, I …

From Höchenschwand, we went to the entrance of the Wolfsteig trail, from there down to Strittberg and the Wolfspfad trail. Then we returned to Höchenschwand via the wonderful rocky path, which requires a certain degree of surefootedness and a head for heights.
