A beautiful hike to the Rauthhütte from Obern – a steep climb up the former toboggan run – breathtaking views up there into the Leutasch Valley, towards the Karwendel Mountains and the Inn Valley with the Stubai Alps in the background. Towering above it all is the impressive Munde (which I'd like to climb sometime)... but not in winter.

There we walked the first 900m along the Leutascher Ache on gravel and then up to km 2.6 on very beautiful alpine hiking trails towards Rauthhütte. Then came 900m of steep gravel road with a gradient of up to …

Ascent from Leutasch over the Kalvarienberg very nice until it comes out of the forest onto the access road to the Rauth Hütte. The road is very sunny and has a gradient of over 30 percent. Descent through the forest with a great view of the Inn Valley on Telfs and the Katzenlöcher very nice.
