Shrine Under the Linden Tree Near Dreisbach

Highlight • Religious Site

Did the deer have been to the wayside shrine before and got God's blessing? Why else does it stop so quietly and let me take a photo? Did it know that I was just taking pictures and not hunting with a sharp weapon? It just had real trust in God.

Info from the VG Bad Marienberg in the Wäller-Blättchen from August 16, 2019:

Felling of the Herzog Adolf linden tree
The felling of the Herzog Adolf linden tree caused a lot of excitement among the citizens of Dreisbach last week. An inspection of the site and examination of the border line revealed that, contrary to previous assumptions, the location of the linden tree was on a parcel of federal property near the B 255. The sketch shows that the linden tree was in the Dreisbach district (purple line), but not on parcel 7, plot 16 as assumed, but on a parcel of federal property (black line).
The linden tree was felled by the State Office for Mobility (LBM) in Diez for safety reasons due to acute fungal infestation. Replacement planting will be arranged by the LBM. Bad Marienberg municipal administration
