Nandolino Dragon Sculpture at the Pfaffenteich

A full seven meters long, with sharp teeth and large eyes, it rises on the southern shore of the Pfaffenteich: a wooden dragon carved by Nando Kallweit. Respect or even fear of this statue – oh well! The name "Nandolino" alone suggests that this work of art is a real magnet for families – especially the younger members.

Nandolino doesn't just stand there, no: He has a purpose. He is a lucky dragon. In 2011, the two-meter-high statue took its place on the southern shore of the Pfaffenteich and was there just in time for the then 20th Dragon Boat Festival. Since then, he has been considered the good spirit of the dragon boat athletes and watches over the races.
