So, faster than expected, we hiked the Legend Trail today. It wasn't a particularly long trail and there were hardly any inclines. The half-timbered houses, some of which are truly beautiful and well-preserved, the church, and the dungeon are truly worth seeing. There's a place to stop for refreshments at Landhaus Mehren (not in Mehren itself).
