Did a tour in the vicinity today and followed the traces of the history of the mine; it also went along the Frankenwaldsteigla "Im Kohlenwald" and on the Burgenweg. Very interesting hike; I didn't realize there were so many coal mines in our area.

Ascension Day hike 2024. The route is almost identical to the mining circular hiking trail. However, the hike started at the Maxschacht and a short section was chosen differently at the Katharinen-Zeche. Many details of the mining tradition can still be seen at the Katharinen-Zeche.
