Highlight • Lake

The Krumme Lanke is a lake in the Grunewald chain of lakes in the Berlin district of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. The lake is surrounded by a shore path about two and a half kilometers long. Ideal for walkers, hikers, runners and cyclists. There are also several bathing areas on the lake.

The Krumme Lanke lake is easily accessible via Fischerhüttenstraße from the Krumme Lanke subway station (U3).

In summer, this is an absolute highlight of the swimming lakes. Although you have to be quick to snag a spot on hot days, I always enjoy coming back. Particularly noteworthy is the slanted diving board, where you jump from about four meters into the cool water. But this spot is also highly recommended in autumn and winter. The densely wooded forest is the perfect place to enjoy seclusion from the big city.

Langes Luch Nature Reserve

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Lange Luch is a nature reserve in the Berlin district of Dahlem on the edge of the Grunewald. The Luch is a swampy, swampy depression in the glacial channel of the Grunewaldseenkette between the Riemeisterfenn in the southwest and the Grunewaldsee in the northeast. The water connection is established by a canal that runs on the east side of the lynx.

The city of Berlin placed the 15 hectare wetland under nature protection as early as 1960. The ordinance of 1960 and its subsequent amendments were updated and replaced on June 26, 1987 by a new ordinance on the Langes Luch nature reserve. The purpose of protection is emphasized therein:

1. To maintain the communities of the open transitional moor, the swinging lawns and the alder forests,

2. to preserve rare and endangered plants,

3. to secure the habitat for the fauna typical of bog,

4. To preserve the layer structure of the moorland for natural and cultural reasons.

In autumn and winter, the west bank offers a wide view of the villas on the opposite bank. Among other things, the Villa Konschewski is located there. It was built between 1922 and 1924 by the architect Oskar Kaufmann, who also designed the buildings of the Hebbeltheater and the Berliner Volksbühne.

[Round from U-Uncle Tom's hut]

The route is super nice, strike-friendly (= accessible by underground), especially the idyllic path along the Fenngraben enchants me every time anew; Unfortunately, there was no trace of peace and solitude - even at 8 in the morning there were already numerous joggers & co on the way today and it didn't get any less …

Beautiful forest, heath and lake hiking area. Beautiful shady paths through the forest even in warm temperatures. The Dachsheide is a historical area.
Along the Grunewaldsee there is a dog walking area with a large number of dogs, all well socialized.
Well-developed path, usually wide enough for hikers, dog owners and cyclists to pass each other easily.
Refreshment options at …

Since mom had to work again, I went hiking with my youngest grandson (7 years old). The first adventure is the journey there. What is particularly exciting is this subway station Onkel Toms Hütte. This shopping line is wonderful, me and my grandchildren like this place.
Next up was the Krumme Lanke. Even today, many dog owners are out and …
