The Kahle Asten is the third highest mountain in the Rothaargebirge but certainly the best known, as it is located directly at the famous tourist destination Winterberg. He is 841 meters high and no matter where you come from, this means a long, crisp climb. But it's worth it: Upstairs not only a great view awaits you (from the branch tower, it is even better, from here you can see in clear weather to Brocken in the Harz!), But also a hotel with a restaurant. And of course a madness descent!

With spring approaching, we wanted to enjoy the snow one more time. On the Kahler Asten that was still possible without any problems.
Add to that the blue sky, what more could a man/woman want?
No, that's all you need!!

After our first tour from Schanze, it would definitely have to be the Kahler Asten.
On my last visit it was lousy cold, rainy and foggy. I didn't see anything of the surrounding landscape. Today I was compensated for that. A great hiking area.
