Flunder Viewing Platform

The 370-square-meter sea platform is made of oak planks; the supporting steel structure is suspended from a pylon set at a depth of ten meters. With its blue paint finish, the steel tube is the platform's unmistakable central element: when viewed from above, it resembles the shape of the flatfish, the "flounder."

The steel girders of the substructure, which extend fan-like into the Baltic Sea, are suspended from the structure's pylon by a cable structure. This makes the platform appear to "float" three meters above the water. From the beach at the DLRG tower, a three-meter-wide walkway leads directly to the flounder. This splits again shortly before the platform and runs past the pylon on both sides.

The flounder is easily accessible by wheelchair, stroller, etc.
