Puente Alta Reservoir

Highlight • Lake

A beautiful landscape surrounding the reservoir created by the Frio River dam on the outskirts of Revenga. Enjoy the reflections of the pine trees and blue sky in the calm waters.

Forest Trail to Río Peces

Highlight • Trail

A beautiful trail among the tall pines of the Navahermosa forests. As you gain height, the forest is killed, giving a background of dense green color and the smell of pine needles.

Peña del Oso (2,196 m)

Highlight • Summit

It is the peak that forms the chest of La Mujer Muerta, its altitude 2,196 m. It is practically the same as that of La Pinareja 2,197 m., (one meter less). The surrounding landscape is unique.

The Cordal de la Mujer Muerta is formed by the peaks: Pico Pasapán (in the silhouette of the Dead Woman it corresponds to the feet), Peña del Oso (her belly) and La Pinareja (the head in the silhouette).

Pico de Pasapán

Highlight • Summit

Pasapán Peak is the last one when you tour the Dead Woman from head to toe. It is the lowest altitude of this Hill, but it is a place of great charm and extraordinary landscape.

Puerto de Pasapán

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The port of Pasapán is located at 1846 meters and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area. From here you can go to the reservoir along one of the most entertaining tracks.

Milanillos Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

In one of the curves of the Track that comes from the Port of Pasapán, you have the opportunity to lean on the fence and admire the entire landscape of the Milanillos River basin. There are people who go down the shortcut of stones, (with great danger), I recommend continuing along the track even if it takes a small detour.

GR-88 Trail

Highlight • Trail

The pastoral path runs through the municipality of La Losa and reaches the junction of the Las Víboras stream. This place has a car park nearby and is another common point to carry out the itinerary of La Mujer Muerta on the Segovian slope. The lane passes through the ford of the stream and a fork appears with red milestones from the Official Network of Itineraries of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park indicating the layout of the GR-88 long-distance path. The milestones of the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental Nature Trail continue to the right towards El Espinar. The trail continues to the left and leaves the cattle track through a revolving gate at the entrance to Rancho de la Becea. The path continues straight as a Scots pine up to the cattle sheds and turns left towards Lomas de la Mujer Muerta. The two paths come together later but the milestones of the GR-88 go to the left and there is less distance. The forest track enters the pine forests and continues to rise until it connects with the other path at a curve in the forest. The next section is a mountain forest track for several kilometers at the foot of the Milanillos river valley. The ravines that go down the slope of La Mujer Muerta usually carry water and are essential to cool off in summer before climbing to the peaks.

July 2, 2023,La Mujer Muerta, cumbres de leyenda.
The legends that surround some mountains have been created to give an aura of attraction and fascination for the peaks, especially when they were distant, wild and unknown territories. And that aura of mystery turns the mountains into places of worship. In all cultures there are mountains that are sacred, magical, untouchable or simply stand out for some curious relief …
