Bakunkärr barbecue area

Highlight • Rest Area

This spacious barbecue area is the perfect spot to take a break while hiking in Sipoonkorpi National Park. It features a covered barbecue area, an open-air grill on a rocky outcrop, plenty of picnic tables, and a shed stocked with firewood. A toilet is also available.

You can camp here, but it’s really hard to find a good spot for a tent here. It has a lot or rocks roots and trees and it on a hill with a very uneven ground. I had a 3 person tent and even that was super hard to find a big enough spot that was ok.

Another well-equipped picnic area! Here, you will find a fire pit, shelters, a firewood storage area, a toilet, and several tables.

Bisajärvi Camping Area

Highlight • Rest Area

Bisajärvi is one of Sipoonkorpi's designated camping areas, with toilet facilities and a fireplace. The lake is typical of this part of Finland; on clear days it reflects the surrounding trees beautifully. This camping spot is only a short walk from Kuusijärvi, with its lake swimming and traditional saunas.

If you are on the Kalkinpolttaja Trail, a wooden staircase will make your journey easier. It will guide you over the round rocks, ensuring a safe ascent or descent, depending on the direction you take on the circular hike.

Adventurous hiking tour took us over 8 hours with stops to eat and relax. Fiskträsk is 1,5 km from car parking place and is perfect as starting and ending point of the hike. It is allowed to use Fiskträsk site as camping, although there are not many places for tents. Anhyhow Fiskträsk is not busy, just some swimmers droped by …
A leisurely hike through this national park, without any real highlights. Rocky paths, forest trails, and gravel paths alternate, with the occasional staircase. The park is probably popular due to its proximity to the capital, Helsinki.
