Mega downhill to the best lunch spot in the Peaks. Super loose rock, techy and steep in places with some step downs. Very fast and very fun!

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Together with Coldwell Clough, this descent is more than a mile of fast and fun downhill riding taking you back down to Hayfield. Rocks and stones give way to soil (mud) as you finish in Elle Bank Wood and on to Valley Road alongside the river.

Awesome descent, quite flowy at the top which leads to some loose and rocky riding. Great views all the way down but you won’t notice. If you carry some speed down to the bottom you may get across the stream next to the bridge, but it does quite deep after rainfall.

Hollins Cross is a col with spectacular panoramic views. There are loads of great trails around here, especially via the Great Ridge to Mam Tor. It can get very busy at popular times/when the weather is great, so choose your moment.

Slash was S.I.L.E.N.T!
Instead I was making all noises. Mostly expletives. Completely forgot about the 2-3 drops on the trails leading to Jacobs Ladder. Also don’t remember that descent being so techy.
Gorgeous day though. Thoroughly exhausted.
