Fowey Harbour

Highlight • Settlement

Fowey is a traditional town located at the mouth of the river Fowey. The Coast Path leads from Fowey to the Gribbin Tower at the Polperro Herritage Coast. The town has been in existence since before 1300; the estuary of the River Fowey forms a natural harbour which enabled the town to become an important trading centre. Privateers also made use of the sheltered harbour. The Lostwithiel and Fowey Railway brought China clay here for export too.

Great parking for 0.50 to pay in the milk can in the yard. Beaches and coastal paths, small trails, so it's better to wear long trousers.
Qm readymoney Cover beach, directly after St. Catherine a great beach kiosk with toilet, great accessories and coffee, etc.
