The barn from which SOE Operatives were provided their equipment and parachutes before departing the secret airfield at Tempsford. The airfield was disguised as a farm and this, the last remaining building, serves as a memorial.
Although it is on private land, it is accessible easily from the bridleway by a short bike push if you really want to follow the rules, or an even quicker cycle on the concrete access road. Take a bike light or phone torch as, although it isn't dark inside, it will help you if you wish to read the tributes and dedications in some of the alcoves.
Worth linking with the other memorial 2.5 miles away in Tempsford Village

A tough little climb if you're coming from the north, lasting about 1km with maximum gradients of 12%. If you're going down the other way, this is a really fun downhill section and you can pick up quite a bit of speed!
