Memorial Site Bunker Valentin

The bunker Valentin is the ruin of a submarine shipyard of the German navy from the Second World War. From 1943 to 1945, thousands of forced laborers from all over Europe were used here: civilians as well as prisoners of war and concentration camp inmates. More than 1,100 of them died during construction of malnutrition, disease and indiscriminate killings. What remains is the bunker Valentin, a unique and unmissable relic of Nazi armor for the naval war. He is a place of remembrance of the war and of the crimes of the National Socialist rule.
The grounds and the very impressive multimedia information center are open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, except on Mondays and Saturdays.
