The cycle path through the Kerkerbach valley from Mengerskirchen in the Westerwald to Runkel an der Lahn largely follows the route of the former Kerkerbach railway. Except for a few sections, the route runs on or next to the disused railway line. The path is not paved throughout, but is easy to drive on.
