Rafting Memorial Statue, Mittenwald

Highlight • Monument

In memory of rafting as a means of transport. The last raft went from Mittenwald to Munich in 1905.

Franzosensteig Trail

Highlight • Trail

Making a landmark cost a lot of money in the past. In addition, the transport and erection were associated with considerable effort - especially in the mountains. Alternatively, so-called rock marches were partly carved on conspicuous rock walls. Where the border was clear anyway, because it followed a ridge, for example, one often completely abstained from placing markings

Obere Wettersteinspitze

Highlight • Summit

From Mittenwald the path leads past the Ferchensee and the Lautersee to the Obere Wettersteinspitze. Well suited as a bike & hike up to the Lautersee. Don't forget your bathing suit for the way back ;-)

For me, a grandiose and varied mountain tour with fantastic views. A somewhat quieter summit, since there is a climb of 320 meters from the Gamsanger - very steep in places :-). Not suitable for beginners as it is very long and requires absolute surefootedness and a head for heights.
