The dominant landmark of Muri is Muri Monastery, a Benedictine monastery almost 1000 years old. Its heart is the monastery church, the structure of which dates back to the 11th century, but most of it dates from the late 17th century. The monastery church has five organs and concerts are held regularly. The monastery also includes monumental classical buildings, which are now used by a school, district authorities and a nursing home.
