Ötztal Campsite

Highlight • Rest Area

Excellent high standard campsite in beautiful surroundings.
Also relatively inexpensive for bikepackers. Bicycles can be stored in the Skistadl (the room is secured with chip cards) including sockets for charging e-bikes. Wash house including wellness area is a show and leaves nothing to be desired. Pizzeria on site is also excellent. The place is located directly on the cycle path along the Ötztaler Arche.

An insider tip that leads from Längenfeld through a beautiful mountain landscape to Gries. But you have to earn the views: Some curves have gradients of up to 14 percent.

Gries Hiking Village

Highlight • Settlement

Between meadows and pastures, surrounded by the glaciated three-thousanders of the Stubai Alps lies Gries. Around the idyllic village of Gries there are several mountain huts. These are perfect for a visit with your family, because the trails are easy to handle with a little stamina. On a variety of walks you have a magnificent view of the village and the surrounding three thousand meter peaks.

A special experience for tourers and climbers are excursions into the high alpine terrain of the surrounding mountains.

Längenfeld Parish Church

Highlight • Religious Site

Parish Church of St. Catherine, Längenfeld
The Roman Catholic parish church of Längenfeld is located in Oberlängenfeld. The parish church of St. Catherine belongs to the deanery of Silz in the Diocese of Innsbruck. The church and cemetery are listed as historical monuments.
The church was first mentioned in 1303 and consecrated in 1352. The elongated church building, with its core in late Gothic style, was rebuilt in 1518, presumably by Jakob von Tarrenz. It was expanded and redesigned in the Baroque style in 1690.

La Vigna

Highlight • Restaurant

We came across this little Italian restaurant by chance during our tour of Lake Garda. Homemade pasta and tiramisu, pizza made from a special dough. I chose the chicken with homemade pasta and a spicier tomato sauce. An absolute must, I have rarely eaten so well. And very nice staff 👍

The end of a great holiday in Austria. I also cursed this climb three quarters of the way, but when you're at the top it's awesome. And the descent was also much safer and hotter than from the Timmelsjoch. I guess I have to go to the mountains more often🤔😁🚴‍♂️
