Piottino Gorge

The Piottino Gorge (Italian: Gola del Monte Piottino) is a gorge in the Valle Leventina in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland. The Ticino River flows through it and separates the Alta Leventina from the Media Leventina with a height difference of around 150 meters.
The short detour away from the main road is highly recommended. The gorge is somewhat reminiscent of the Schöllenen Gorge on the northern side of the Gotthard, although it is significantly longer.
