In the spring of 1652, in the immediate vicinity of the church, a spring came to light, which was initially used for watering cattle. But history tells of numerous miraculous healings through the sweet water. The first chapel was built that same year. Numerous people, not only from the immediate vicinity, but also from Vienna, today's Burgenland and other parts of Lower Austria, made pilgrimages to Rauchenwarth to hope for relief from their suffering or even healing. The late baroque pilgrimage church "Maria Bründl" in Rauchwarth rises to the west of the place, with which it connects an avenue of chestnut trees. Opposite are the "Bründlkapelle" and a statue of Johannes Nepomuk (1719). The chapel construction dates back to 1718. The well is located in the basement. A glass plate covers the round frame. For the wall behind it, Hermann Bauch created a mosaic around 1970 with the inscription: "Maria Heil der Kranken, please for us". The Bründl Festival is celebrated on the 2nd Sunday in September (around Mariae's name). In 1652, in the age of denomination, a spring rose on the property of the Viennese Dorotheer monastery in Rauchwarth. In the same year, healings evoking grace, mostly for eye problems, were found, a chapel was built and masses were read. Numerous processions came from Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and the Czech Republic. The spring dried up several times and reappeared elsewhere. From 1707 to 1782, hermits looked after the place of worship and were given permission to build a way of the cross.
