Ilkerton Hill Gate

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Heading north towards Lynton, there's a lovely sheltered section of trail that meanders downhill back towards Cheriton. It's hard-packed doubletrack and rideable at pace in all weathers, so you can freewheel two or three kilometres back to the car park.

Two Moors Way, Exmoor National Park

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This part of the loop runs along the waymarked Two Moors Way, a 145km coast-to-coast route that runs from Lynton on the north Devon coast to Ivybridge on the south, and so connecting the National Parks of Exmoor and Dartmoor. This section is wild and remote feeling, though you are never more than 10km from either Lynton or Simonsbath. Watch out for the wild moorland ponies!

Chains Barrow Trig Point

Highlight • Viewpoint

This trig point is only 32m lower than Dunkery Beacon, though with a much less distinctive hilltop. In the far distance, you can see Hartland Point and Lundy. It is enclosed within a fenced off area.
