Kronthaler Springs

Highlight • Natural Monument

Beautifully landscaped spring park that invites you to take a break. You can also use a Kneipp pool. A Sauerbrunnen was first mentioned in a document in the small valley in the middle of the 16th century. The sources continue to shape its history to this day. The economic use of the Kronthal began with the discovery of the healing properties of the water by the Kronberg medical officer Ferdinand Küster in 1818. He had the first springs surrounded and smaller spa facilities built. In 1823, the Frankfurt merchant Johann Adam Osterrieth came onto the scene and set up a stock corporation to compete with the existing spa facilities.
Around 1840, the Kronthal experienced a heyday and was known far beyond today's national borders. It was also Osterrieth who had a spacious spa park created in the style of an English landscape garden. The bottling operation in Kronthal was discontinued in 2005. Today you can still draw mineral water yourself from two springs.

Schwalbacher Forest

Highlight • Forest

The Schwalbacher Wald is an important local recreation area and nature reserve in Schwalbach am Taunus. It consists of over 90 percent deciduous trees and is protected as a conservation forest (Bannwald), highlighting its role for the local climate and nature conservation. A special feature is the old tree stands, which partly date back to historical use as a pasture forest (Hutewald) and give the forest a distinctive character.
Particularly ecologically valuable is the Sauerbornsbachtal valley, which is under European protection as a Flora-Fauna habitat. Rare animal species such as the kingfisher, the great crested newt, and the chalkhill blue butterfly find a safe habitat here. Along the streams, wet meadows and riparian forests shape the landscape, while information boards at the forest entrances inform visitors about the sensitive animal and plant world.
The area offers an extensive network of trails for jogging, cycling, and hiking. Families enjoy using the forest playground on Schlesienstraße. Furthermore, the forest borders directly on the Arboretum Main-Taunus, a spacious forest park that houses an impressive collection of international tree species. Forestry management is primarily focused on preserving the recreational function and nature conservation.

Great, modern architecture... and the view is simply amazing 👍
At 32 meters, it is now twice as high as the original tower!
By the way, there is also a very interesting line of sight here: the castle tower of the Falkenstein ruins and the telecommunications tower of the Großer Feldberg are on the same line.
