Warnsborn Estate

The estate is located on the Veluwezoom and the Hoge Veluwe, just outside Arnhem. The area in which the estate is located has been inhabited for over 4,000 years. For example, there are five burial mounds on the estate. Klompenpad Schaarsbergen passes one of these burial mounds.

The estate was first mentioned in the 15th century. It then belonged to the monastery of Mariëndaal. Around 1650, parts of monastery lands were sold to private individuals. This is how the first estates were created in this area, including Landgoed Groot Warnsborn. It grows into a stately country retreat with a chapel, coach house, park and orangery. Unfortunately, the country house went up in flames during WWII. It has been rebuilt and is now used as a hotel.
