Grobbendonk's water mill is located at the confluence of the Kleine Nete and Aa and is one of the most beautiful hammer mills in the Kempen. This 13th-century battle mill still grinds daily, oats and barley are crushed for horse feed. Until today, the mill is only powered by water power, which is unique for Flanders

The forest cross, which lies against the border of Oostmalle and Zoersel, was built on a six-way junction in 1931 long before the construction of the E34. There is a funny anecdote attached to it. Around 1930, the naturist association De Spar opened a nudist area fifty meters away. In a self-built 'nudarium' they practiced nude swimming and nude gymnastics.
The local residents spoke of the 'exposure holes' and told about the many untold things that happened there. Legend has it that a poacher encountered eight naked women during his nighttime trek through the forest. He fell asleep at a crossroads of lanes and woke up the next day with no trace of his nighttime adventure. The pastor was so impressed by the poacher's story that he had the cross of Blommerschot erected there to chase the 'witches' away.

The Grotenhoutbos, located in the south of Vosselaar and partly in Gierle, is one of the oldest forests in the Antwerp Kempen. The forest (300 ha) also has an extremely rich history.
Until the end of the 17th century, hunting fulfilled the most important function in the forest. For example, the Dukes of Brabant held grand hunting parties there in the thirteenth century.
This changed from the 17th century onwards. In 1667, Adriaen Ghys, a forester from Vosselaar, sowed the first pine tree in the Kempen. The domain remained in the hands of important noble families, but they now focused on timber production. One of the owners was Victor Bracht, who was able to save the remaining 415 ha. of forest from destruction in 1929.
Since 2000, the Grotenhoutbos has been owned by the Agency for Nature and Forests of the Flemish government. Through sophisticated forest management, the original landscape is to be restored as much as possible. Centuries-old forest plants are given every chance again, which in turn attracts rare animals. The greatest asset of the Grotenhoutbos is the enormous variety of different ecosystems.
Various signposted walks run through the domain.
The main entrance to the Grotenhoutbos is located at De Breem, at the bridge over the E34 motorway.

Het Zwart Water consists of a fen with woods on the edge, gale thickets, willow breeches and lean grassland. In the middle of the water there is a floating platform that birds like to use to rest and build their nest. Long ago, Zwart Water and its surroundings were an open dune landscape where the wind had free play. Sand was blown away to a hard layer in the subsoil, after which it collected around it to form dune ridges. The hard layer did not let water through and thus gave rise to a pool. Peat, better known as peat, developed in this area, which gave the water a dark color. Hence the name "Black Water".
