December 31, 2021,Letzte Runde 2021🍾🎆
It's time to say goodbye to the old year.
We don't know what the new year will bring us. Hopefully the end of the pandemic
Thank goodness Corona didn't prevent us from biking.
In 2021 I was granted to cover around 4000km on around 110 bike tours and conquer 57000 meters of altitude on the bike.
It was a pleasure …

The new cycle path bridge over the Kallenbach near Niedershausen is almost finished. Cyclists and hikers will probably soon be able to use the bridge and cross the Kallenbach. It is nice that there are still communities (Löhnberg) that are working to improve the cycle path network in the southern Westerwald and are not just making declarations of intent.

One more quick spin before another storm comes. In the sunshine today I was able to enjoy the landscape of the Faulbach and Kallenbach cycle paths. In the Faulbach valley first up to the junction and then down in the Kallenbach valley and back to Dillhausen. A 3km stretch of cycle path in the lower Faulbach valley between Dillhausen and …

The Kallenbachtalradweg is currently being relocated between Obershausen and Niedershausen closer to the stream bed. An additional bridge over the Kallenbach is required for this. Let's see if the project will be finished next year. Kudos to the initiators in the municipality of Löhnberg for improving this section of an already beautiful cycle path.👍💯

The small Sunday lap at moderate temperatures went up to the knot, at least until shortly before. Slush stopped me from going further up. In the Kallenbach, plenty of meltwater flowed to the Lahn. You can see that nature is not impressed by Delta or Omicron.

You see lots of these signs. Note on bike path. But passage ban also for cyclists. So push?🤣

During the tour I focused on the mountains and mountain peaks between Faulbachtal and Kallenbachtal. During my trip I passed the Zimberg, Galgenkopf, Hansenberg Kahlenberg, Am Mombach, Dunkel and Hermannsberg.
Unfortunately the names of these heights are not listed on the Google maps or Koomot. This means that historical information is lost in the digitization process.
