Dahme Castle Ruins

Highlight • Castle

The Dahme castle, including the buildings of a medieval moated castle of the Lords of Dahme under the dukes of Saxe-Weissenfels Frederick and John Adolf II was transformed from 1711 to 1714 to a Baroque palace with representative Mittelrisalit.
After canceled refurbishment measures the castle fell into ruin after 1957, which was secured from 1994 to 2008 with the participation of the German Foundation for Monument Protection and since then serves cultural purposes.

The Little Mill is one of the watermills on the Dahme. In the former grain mill, about 200 years old, small quantities were ground and transported from there to the train station in Drahnsdorf via the small railroad tracks (still available).

Dahme (Mark) Castle Park

Highlight • Natural Monument

With the passage through the pretty castle park, the RK7 offers something very special along all Flaeming skate routes. Slow down a bit, also for the sake of the walkers. You can take a wonderful break on the benches.
