The bridge goes over a narrower central section of Alemoor Reservoir. I thought the would be more sighs of human life here, but away from Hawick there are very few people about, just occasional vehicles and human life. There is the odd bike going around, mainly road bikes

Ale Water flows here into Alemoor Reservoir, and B711 here is a causeway that divides the reservoir into two parts. Very beautiful views straight from the road. Spot Alemoor Hill on the wooded slopes, north-west of the road.

This old disused building could be a potential bothy. The doorway was open. I did not look inside as I kept riding. It is located 10trs off the gravel track in a quiet remote location. There are hardly any signs of people or other buildings in this location

Wide grassy paths typify Drinkstone Hills. It looks easy in the pictures but it can be tough going. It's worth it for the view back to Hawick though.

The surface here is decent. The last few days had been slightly windy and the surfaces were quite dry. I was able to ride through this section with ease. It could be a bit muddy on wetter days
