Nonnenfelsen (Nuns' Rocks)

Highlight (Segment) • Natural Monument

The Nonnenfelsen are a unique rock formation above the spa town of Jonsdorf. Various paths lead up and up next to the bizarre sandstone pinnacles you can expect an incomparable view of the surrounding mountains.

There are many stone figures here that resemble animals or things... e.g. a teapot. You can make great discoveries. The rock with sandstone and lava components is already special.

Last day before departure.

So we went to the Jonsdorf butterfly house, which is well worth seeing. In addition to the butterflies mentioned, there are also all kinds of fish, amphibians and reptiles to see in lovingly decorated aquariums and terrariums.

I've never taken so many photos before. The tour took almost the whole day with lots and lots of looking and photographing

The "Alpine Path," which we walked for parts of the way, lives up to its name!

Our tour was sometimes exhausting, constantly up and down, but very interesting.
You can only capture the impressions with photos to a limited extent, you have to see it.

I discovered Beo on Komoot and followed it today. Since I discovered the large parking lot at the Gondola Pond and wanted to stop there, the hike was a bit shorter.
The weather was beautiful, although there was a cool breeze. I really enjoyed the trail and would happily recommend it.

From Jonsdorf it went up to the Carolafelsen and then back and forth as well as up and down through the rock city and the stone zoo 😊. The rock formations and rock lanes are gigantic.
Unfortunately, Komoot swallowed a lot of photos - especially those of the stone zoo.

The further climb to the Nonnenfelsen in bright …
