From the Kloo-Ascher valley, at the foot of the local mountain, there is a wonderful view of the Sonnenwendjoch and the neighbouring peaks.

Spitzingsee

Highlight • Lake

The Spitzingsee is a dream and can be ridden as a stop on a three-lake tour together with the Schliersee and Tegernsee. The connection between Tegernsee (Rottach-Egern) and Spitzingsee is formed by the beautiful Valepp toll road. One of my personal highlights, which I ride regularly. Absolutely brilliant!

On the tour, you should definitely pack a wind jacket for the various descents! Especially if you go up to the alpine pastures above 1,400 meters and along the Valepp.

September 7, 2024,Rund um die Rotwand - Spitzingsee und Schliersee
-AROUND THE ROTWAND including Schliersee and Spitzingsee-

The tour starts in the town of Geitau, where you can also find parking 🅿️. You cycle around the country road and Bayrischzell along a gravel cycle path. This offers nice places to take a break (Kneipp pool, children's playground, etc.). After a while, after a small town, turn right towards the mountains🏞️. …

The tour was not without problems. It's good that there are e-bikes.

The tour is really great! For me one of the best in the corner. Because the round has everything.
To Bayrischzell you drive comfortably along beautiful gravel paths along the Leitzach. From Bayrischzell down to the Bäckeralm through the forest, lots of small sharp curves, combined with very short hills or declines, you can really get stuck and challenge the …

June 29, 2025,Rund um die Rotwand
A beautiful tour in the Spitzing area, around the Rotwand.
In the morning, the route is mostly shaded, so it's also a good option in summer – if you set off early 😉

Showing Translation

Did the tour continuously in the rain and unfortunately had no distant view of the mountains. But even with the weather, the round was worth it.

Showing Translation

It was a technically easy tour on wide forest roads and asphalt roads. Very attractive landscape with good places to stop for refreshments. Many
shady sections. Ideal on hot days. The climbs are moderate except for 2 short snappers. A great tour to cycle into.

Schliersee, Bayrischzell, Elendsattel, Valepp, Spitzingssee, Josefstal, Schliersee. A very nice bike tour, just to enjoy. Today I managed it with a friend at an average speed of 22 km/h. Phew, that was sporty. You can do it more leisurely 😍
