Tomb of the Rich Girl from Molzbach

Highlight • Historical Site

The site of the "Rich Girl from Molzbach" is located here.
The investigation of the burial mound on Bomberg near Molzbach in the summer of 1931 brought a sensation: the richest girl's grave of the Bronze Age in Hesse in an almost inconspicuous hill. And this was only a subsequent burial, because the hill was originally created for a man.
This burial became known as the "girl from Molzbach" because her age was initially estimated to be around 12 to 14 years. Today it is believed that the deceased was around 20 years old. [
The finds can be viewed in the Konrad Zuse Museum in Hünfeld.

Puss in Boots Statue

Highlight • Monument

With five life-sized figures and groups of figures, five different artists have staged the fairy tales effectively and vividly. The “Grimms Fairy Tale Trail” is thanks to the Dr. Hans and Hildegard Medler Foundation, whose aim is to promote reading, especially among children, and to preserve German fairy tale culture.

In addition to the introductory work of art “Nina - a reading girl”, a purchase from the artist Leonardo Rossi, “The Frog Prince” was created in 2007 by Günter Metz (Langenleiten) and “Rumpelstiltskin” by Rainer Landgraf from Fulda. Two years later, “Puss in Boots” followed, created by Klaus Metz (also Langenleiten). In 2010, the last two fairy tale characters were unveiled: “The Wolf and the Seven Little Goats” by Andreas Teuchert (Büchenbach) and the “Bremen Town Musicians”, designed by Willi Tannheimer (Bad Hindelang).

Haselsee

Highlight • Lake

The Haselsee is fed by the Hasel brook, which has its source near Haselstein. The Haselsee and the nearby Bürgerpark form the local recreation area of Hünfeld. Pedal boats and rowing boats can be hired in the Café am Haselsee.

Around the lake, the Grimms Fairy Tale Trail with figures invites you to listen and marvel and to take a journey into the realm of fairy tales. A children's playground, a multi-purpose tower, a soccer field for recreational teams, and an ice rink in winter are other attractive offers around the Haselsee. A nature trail with an adjoining bee and insect trail on the Haselsee has also become a highlight for visitors.
