The New Inn, Flash – Highest Village Pub in England

Highlight • Settlement

The village of Flash is between 471m and 468m above sea level. It is reported to be the highest village in England.

Of critical importance is the claim by The New Inn to be the highest village pub in England. Best have a pint there just to be sure.

It's open Tuesday to Sunday.

Rock strewn Stream crossing, there is a footbridge alternative slightly further up and to the right. A steep rocky climb towards Knotbury, several lines through the trees & roots, (great for coming down the other way) keep left for the smoothest gravel climb

Three Shires Head Stone Bridge and Waterfalls

Highlight • Viewpoint

Three Shires Head is the Grade II listed stream bridge (or waterfall, accounts differ) which marks the intersection of three counties; Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire.

The run around cut-thorn hill to here is an entertaining blast, too; not too techy but lots of fun, and it finishes here - one of the best picnic spots for miles.

Enjoy this place for a wild swim, with clear plunge pools and waterfalls here in the River Dane.
