Rappenloch Gorge

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

Very impressive and highly recommended. The Rappenloch Gorge is easily accessible from Gütle or Karren via easy paths, but you should be able to climb stairs, of which there are several. The trails are closed during the winter months from November to April.

Karren Viewing Platform

Highlight • Viewpoint

Anyone who's ever on the cart must necessarily walk the root path to the top of the Staufens. The rather challenging path runs through a beautiful mountain forest. As the name suggests, you have to climb over roots all the time, which makes the Wandering Spirit even more exciting and keeps you going. When I walked this trail, I wished the trail would never stop. But after a good 50 minutes, you are finally at the destination: the top of the Stauf. It is a rather low peak, but that does not mean that you have no view. On the contrary, from the top you have a fantastic view of the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance.
How to get to the root path: From the cart track mountain station you have to walk first direction Staufenspitze. At the second intersection, the root path is already on the trail sign turn off. After a few minutes, the turnoff comes, where the white-blue-white root path begins.

The 12-meter-long walkway, surrounded by glass, offers a breathtaking view of the Swiss mountains, the Rhine Valley and Lake Constance, so to speak, "standing in the middle of nowhere." To take this unique impression home with you, you can use the selfie point to take a souvenir photo and have it printed out on site.

THERE ARE STILL MANY PICTURES THAT NEED TO BE UPLOADED 🙃

We started from the car park at the valley station of the Karren cable car, first on the
family hiking trail (1). In the second third I chose the steeper mountain hiking trail.

Great weather for a great tour! Impressive!

With this tour, a problem-free arrival and departure by bus was possible. We saved ourselves the descent and let the cart railway take us down into the valley.

@𝕭𝖊𝖗𝖌𝖑𝖊𝖗 🏔: After reinstalling komoot again and granting many permissions, I'm happy with the recording again. Thank you for your effort!

With guests up the mountain and into the gorge 🙂
Used the nice weather to enjoy the views and insights on an easy 'mountain' hike.

Plenty of water for dogs, amazing views over Dornbirn. The paths are very slippery in places, with rough stones! Our route also included many steps, spaced far apart. A very challenging and beautiful walk, far from the usual tourist trails.

The tour can also be done the other way round, then it's almost all downhill 😅 you should be a good walker in any case. Very nice tour

Gorges-mountains-temperature-best friend and my fur nose🥰
The gorge paths are in top condition, but unfortunately the water level is frightening. The streams are almost empty and the lake is just a puddle😔
From the viewing platform on the cart you have a fantastic view over the Rhine Valley 😎
Our descent had a jungle …

A beautiful hike from Dornbirn through the Rappenloch Gorge to the Karren mountain. The gorge was closed at this time of year, but we still got some stunning views. A big plus was that there weren't many other hikers on the trail. It was busier on the Karren itself, of course, with the cable car and the breathtaking views. Lake …

Family tour without technical challenges, the ascent is beautiful but sweaty. If you want, you can walk down again, we preferred the cart track because of knee problems.
