Of the eight bisses (suonen) in Nendaz, six still have water - even if partly for tourist reasons rather than for irrigation.
The oldest bisse in Nendaz dates back to 1435! The longest, "Bisse de Saxon", has a length of 26 or even 32 km, depending on the information, and is therefore the longest bisse in Europe.
