Levensau High Bridge

The old Levensau High Bridge was built at the end of the 19th century for railway and tram traffic. The new, eastern Levensau High Bridge was built about 90 years later as a motorway and is not accessible by bicycle. The old high bridge is still accessible and offers a breathtaking panorama of the Kiel Canal. Photographers will love this spot! The bridge also provides shelter for around 6,000 bats in winter. According to the Waterways and Shipping Authority, the bridge's technical service life is expected to end in 2024. Access is frequently closed due to construction work.
