Historic Schlepzig Mill

The historic village mill (Der old Eisenhammer von Schlepzig) was rebuilt in 1771 on the Spree as a so-called triple mill, as it still exists today. The building was first mentioned in 1374, when it was used as an iron hammer. Over the years, it became a flour mill, which burned down in 1769.
In the mill was ground and crushed until the 1980s. Extensive restoration work was carried out on and in the mill between 1994 and 2000. For example, the old shotguns were replaced, but mill parts from another mill from Thuringia were installed. Thanks to these renovations, the mill can still grind and grind (only on special occasions).
Today the mill is a museum, which can be visited on the weekends between May and October from 10:00 to 16:00.
