Traditional ice cream, known for generations, not only to the inhabitants of Pszczyna.
There are many places to eat ice cream in the market right now and this ice cream shop is the oldest of them.

Castle in Pszczyna

Highlight • Castle

Castle in Pszczyna - former magnate residence in Pszczyna (German: Pless) in Upper Silesia, which was built on the site of a defensive Gothic castle from the beginning of the 15th century, probably built on the site of an earlier fortification. Then the castle was rebuilt in the 16th century in the renaissance style, and in the 18th century in the baroque style and again in the 19th century in the French baroque style from the times of Louis XIII. In the Middle Ages it was the property of, among others, the Opole-Racibórz dukes, the dukes of Opava and the dukes of Cieszyn. In the years 1548–1765 it belonged to the Silesian family of Promnitz, 1765–1847 to the princes Anhalt-Köthen-Pless, and from 1847 to the princes Hochberg von Pless from Książ. In the years 1870–1876, they rebuilt the castle, as a result of which it obtained its present architectural shape in the neo-baroque style.

The former church with its characteristic five towers on the belfry, standing in the place of the current one, existed in Studzionka from the 15th century. The old temple was used for religious purposes until July 9, 1822, when, according to the report, it was destroyed by a fire in the octave of Corpus Christi. Therefore, in 1827 the parish priest Zimermann laid the cornerstone for the construction of the new, present church. The church was built by the builder Heintze from Ignatzdorf (today's Wełowiec?).
After a break (due to lack of finances), in the spring of 1833, further construction was started. On August 31, 1834, the church was consecrated in the presence of Ludwik von Anhalt Cothen, the prince of Pszczyna.

Wooden Church of St. James the Greater

Highlight • Religious Site

Church of st. Jakub the Apostle in Wisła Mała, which originally carried the invocation of the Nativity of the Mother of God, is one of the wooden churches of the Pszczyna poviat. The present church, as well as the bell tower built later, come from the 18th century and were erected on the site of the previous building from the 15th or 16th century. In the interwar years, the church was enlarged. The facility is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship.
The history of the church
The parish in Wisła Mała was already mentioned in 1326. There were probably three wooden churches standing here successively. The predecessor of the present building, probably erected in the 15th or 16th century, was in the hands of Protestants for some time. Today's Church of st. James the Elder was built in the years 1775-80. The tower was added in 1782, and in 1923 it was connected to the main body of the building.
Characteristic
The temple, with a carcass structure typical of wooden churches, was erected on a brick foundation. The plan of the oriented temple includes a rectangular nave and a lower, simply closed chancel with a sacristy. It is possible that the present building was built on the foundations of the previous one and is a fairly faithful reconstruction of it (such assumptions were made by Józef Matuszczak, a well-known researcher of Silesian wooden churches). There are prominent Saturdays around the building, but not including the eastern wall of the sacristy. The pole-structure belfry, which originally stood next to it, was connected with the church as a result of the extension of the nave in 1923. The tower, covered with shingles, is crowned with an ogee and a spherical cupola. The roofs of the building are also covered with shingles.
Interior
Worth seeing is the interior with almost complete, original furnishings, representing Baroque and Rococo. In the main altar, dating from 1776, there are: a picture of the patron of the church, St. Jacob the Apostle the Elder and - in the finial - the image of the Mother of God with the Child. In the left side altar there is a painting of Divine Providence from 1776, while in the right one there is a painting of St. Walenty from 1804. The furnishings of the church also include a baptismal font from 1780, a confessional from the 18th century and a pulpit with a statue of St. James.
