Wieladingen Castle Ruins

Highlight • Castle

Beautiful castle ruins. The castle was built from the 13th century onwards in several stages by the Lords of Wieladingen and the ministerials of the Säckingen monastery. The 28-meter-high keep is still preserved and can be visited.

Short vacation with a photo friend in the Black Forest... It was quite exhausting with all the photo equipment...🐘. and exciting what we were allowed to experience... Yesterday I fell from a stone into the water with my photo and tripod💧.... fortunately nothing happened to the photo equipment.🤣

Cold, very cold...but this tour was still beautiful.
Through the Murgtal (part of the Murgtalppfad...long-distance hike) and also a section of the Glasträgerweg (also a stage hike) over the wild, romantic stone steps to the castle ruins and repeatedly past the roaring waterfalls and streams...
I can only recommend this tour! 🐾❄️🐾

A beautiful tour with lots of variety and great information boards. The trail is well signposted, so it's (almost) doable without Komoot! 😁 Thanks for sharing!

Hiking in the green valley of the Murg. Along the old, exciting Murgtal route and the river of the same name to the Wieladingen castle ruins. A varied hike with two waterfalls, the interesting, old Murgtal route with rock tunnels and finally a castle ruin with a great view of the Alps in clear weather.
It was once again so …

Short break over😏 with hot temperatures and some circulation problems unusual for me today, I went down into the Murgtal🙂, very nice and pleasant to walk along the river. Then short and steep up to the Wieladingen castle ruins.. further over the heights and back down into the Murgtal. Back via the Elendslöcherweg.

Really nice. The hike can partly (first part) also be done by bike.
Especially suitable when it is very warm and sunny.
