Great S1 trail... in a beautiful area

Highlight • Trail

A really nice trail through the forest to St. Antönien should be feasible for everyone, as there are no real difficulties. The trail is S0-S1

Carschina Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

If you did not know it, you weighed yourself in the Dolomites. The imposing rock formations behind the Carschina Pass, 2221m, are very impressive. In front of it is the Carschina hut, the Swiss Alpine Club, where bikers are also welcome. The Carschina hut was the highest point of the Swiss Bike Masters and is therefore still a popular destination for bikers today.

Carschinahütte

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Below the rugged Sulzfluh, at an altitude of 2,236 meters, lies the Carschinahütte of the Swiss Alpine Club. After extensive renovation, one of the most beautiful and most visited huts in the country is now also one of the most sustainable. A solar system will ensure a reliable and environmentally friendly power supply in the future. The kitchen and sanitary facilities have been completely renewed, along with the spring capture, the filter system, and the entire wastewater infrastructure. Adapted room sizes, wider mattresses, and a dining room renovated with a lot of wood ensure additional coziness. What has remained is what has always characterized the hut: a unique location, the impressive mountain scenery of the Rätikon, the warm and rustic atmosphere, a cordial hut team, as well as the regional delicacies of excellent quality that are served here.

Berghaus Sulzfluh

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Nostalgic coziness meets modern comfort. In this hut, you can sit in the cozy parlor by candlelight or in the hot tub with a view of the Alps. The down-to-earth cuisine will get you fit again for your onward journey. This mountain house offers rooms for overnight stays, from comfortable double rooms to rustic (and significantly cheaper) dormitories.

St. Antönien Village

Highlight • Settlement

Reformed Church, St. Antönien
The church dates from the mid-14th century and was under the patronage of St. Anthony. In 1493 a new building and an extension were built in the late Gothic style, during which the church tower was also raised. The Reformation was accepted as early as 1523/24 through the work of Jakob Spreiter.
The interior of the nave is covered with a barrel vault made of wooden battens. The chancel is covered by an ornate star vault. In the middle of the choir there is a baptismal font, which, according to the Reformed tradition, also serves as a communion table. The polygonal pulpit without a sound cover, which is climbed by a long ladder and behind which a mighty pulpit is attached, mediates on the left side between the choir and the nave. An organ built by Johann Conrad Speisegger in 1730 has stood in the gallery since 1966.
Over the centuries, the church has survived several avalanches unscathed.

The battery consumption was between 380 and 400 Wh. We could also ride almost the entire lap. We had to push a few times, but never more than 10 meters. The driveway to the Carschinahütte, although signposted as a road, is more than rough and sometimes very steep. But is still possible. The landscape is unique. You're never alone, and …

According to Switzerland Mobile, the route from the Carschina Hut to the Schesaplana Hut is closed. So an alternative route was planned from Pany to the Carschina Hut and then over to the Partnunsee and back to Pany (it then turned out that the high-altitude trail was open). From the Carschina Hut there is a scree field, which is not …
