April 30, 2023,Auf dem Kamm des Wesergebirges: Springsteine, Schaumburg, Paschenburg, Füßleins Ruh...
The starting point was the Springsteine hiking car park. First we had to climb quite steeply - but it was worth it. Along the ridge path it was blooming everywhere: violets, larkspur, wood anemone, ranunculus, wild garlic, cowslip..., plus the still fresh green of the trees.
After descending slightly dilapidated steps, there was a short rest at Füßleins Ruh.

The path leads us along narrow paths under a green canopy to Paschenburg Castle, actually a forester's lodge. Expansive views of the Weser region await. Continue through the wild garlic forest to Schaumburg Castle with the Georgsturm (St. George's Tower), the landmark of the Schaumburg district. Emperor Wilhelm once gave it to Prince Georg as a silver wedding anniversary gift. …

Today there were enough castles: the start and finish of the round was the Schaumburg and it is really impressive with its fortifications and two towers. For a small fee (1 €) you can climb the Georgsturm and have a fantastic view of the surrounding area from the top. Completely different, i.e. H. inconspicuous, the Osterburg: Without the information board …

Having arrived in the Weserbergland region yesterday, we set out on our first hike today. The first section wasn't so good😥. The path was partly overgrown, or difficult to follow due to fallen trees🌳. So it became a bit of a challenge. After Paschenburg🏰, the hiking trail could be called that again. Overall, it was strenuous😓, but also beautiful😏👍🏻

We were in the Weser Mountains, a nice tour with moderate climbs, unfortunately the weather didn't play along in the form of rain after 45 minutes. So we shortened the hike to 2/3. Otherwise we would certainly have had a wonderful view from the observation tower. But this area around Schaumburg is highly recommended.👍
