Zipfelbach Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

A very beautiful narrow valley with a fantastic watercourse. A bit slippery after rain. Good footwear and surefootedness are necessary.

A really great valley. But you should be sure-footed, especially when the paths are muddy.

A new lookout, probably created by Sturmtief Eberhard. From here you have a clear view of the Limburg.

Breitenstein Viewpoint

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Breitenstein is a white Jura rock outcrop on the Albtrauf. It is a natural monument and protected geotope. In addition to the great view, the climb through the Eichhalde is also a beautiful experience.

May 10, 2025,Breitenstein - Zipfelbachtal
Sturdy shoes and hiking poles were a great help, as were Komoot and my Suunto Race, which guided me safely. The Breitenstein itself wasn't exactly a race, especially since the approximately 1.5 km of asphalt leading up to it. Therefore, the tour could have been shortened accordingly, as I did in 2017, because then you're only on wonderful singletrack. Orion …

Hike from Hepsisau up the beautiful Zipfelbach valley to the Mörikefelsen and to Auchtert. Then enjoy the view from Breitenstein with a glass of sparkling wine. The return route before Auchtert is steeply downhill in a zigzag back to Hepsisau.

We missed it during the cherry blossom season, so today finally from Hespisau through the Zipfelbach gorge up through the Randecker Maar - a bit muddy but great. Then to Mörikefels and Breitenstein with such a great view, finally without rain and lots of sun. Then a real scout fire attached at three (fresh) speeds .. PROUD and then spectacularly …

Hello 🙋 the plan was actually to stay at home 🏠 today 🤭 but that changed very quickly after breakfast 😁 it wasn't supposed to be a big tour and not too far away either 🤔 so Öpchen drove me to Breitenstein 💪 from there I walked the path along the Albabbruch, but right at the start I had to …

After yesterday's grandchildren's ski day ⛷️ in Donnstetten, saw the snow conditions there and immediately planned a hike in the area for today.
And sometimes a few kilometers make a world of difference - there was snow but nothing compared to Donnstetten.
Nevertheless, the Breitenstein and the Zipfelbachtal are always worth a round, especially with such a dream winter weather …
