A nice sturdy wooden bridge for you to cross on the way to Popradske pleso. The stream hits of the stones creating small waterfalls

A large part of the route runs along this stream, when you get higher it gets strangely quiet :)

... took advantage of the last morning before the heavy rain ☔️ with a short hike... it worked out perfectly... just back in the car the fat one came 🚿😎

Relaxed around the lake and then over root paths / stones with high variety up towards Popradske Pleso.
The persistent rain and low clouds took their toll on us, increased the balancing act at one point or another to jump around puddles and made the panorama more difficult, which can certainly be enjoyed very well on the way on a …

organized tour with 37 participants and two mountain guides in the High Tatras, apart from us half of Europe was out and about in the beautiful weather 😊

PS: the symbolic cemetery is definitely worth seeing

My phone died on the way back. We suggest to go back the same way we started. The other road is terrible and not made for hikers. We had a bear sighting so be aware. ;)
And today, too, it was clear to us right at the start of the hike that we would see a lot of people.
The first part of the tour was on an asphalt road to a junction where it goes to a memorial for those who died in accidents in the mountains.

Finally nice weather today 🌞! Wonderful tour, actually easy, but the leftover snow made the path difficult again. When circumnavigating the Popradske Pleso, I almost slipped in. I was still there voluntarily. Aahh, I love cold water!
The mountaineers' cemetery is also worth seeing. The Tatras keep a few people with them almost every year. So always stay calm!

The problem with this truly fascinating tour is that we took a path in the nature reserve that was not marked as a hiking trail on the way back from the upper lake. This is not allowed, as we discovered at the end of the trail. I will change the access permission in OSM. To follow it, follow the green …

If you want to take the great path through the forest south of the waterfall (Vodopád Poprad), you'll have to take off your shoes halfway, roll up your trouser legs and wade through the Poprad.
