Asserbo Castle Ruins

Highlight • Castle

Founded around 1100 as a monastery and owned by the Bischoff Absalon. In 1560, the castle, which was converted into a former monastery, became the property of the Danish king. Through the sand escape also fell the castle. The ruin was excavated again in 1849.

Today was a wonderful hike. Near Tisvilde, we entered the Troll Forest (starting parking lot). The area where the Troll Forest is located is part of the Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park. There's a section where the trees resemble trolls, and many stories surround this area. This hike through the forest was varied and beautiful; I've rarely been through such a …
