Since the Middle Ages, Lüsslingen was subject to the Buchegg lordship, which was part of the Landgraviate of Burgundy. Unlike the other places in the lordship, the village remained with Bern in 1391 and only came to Solothurn after the Reformation in 1539, where it was assigned to the Bucheggberg bailiwick.
